The applicant for a temporary authorization certificate must comply with the following criteria:

| Teachers are certified in various areas of early childhood, elementary, middle, secondary, and special education. Certification is based upon completion of an approved teacher education program. | Career Education teachers are certified to work in Career-Technical Centers and programs such as nursing, automotive, occupational family and consumer science, and trade/industrial fields. Certification is based on occupational work experience. |

NOTE: Individuals with valid Missouri teaching certificates who wish to substitute teach in a school district are no longer required by DESE to apply for a substitute certificate.

1 college credit hour = 15 PD contact hours
Renew
- Submit an online TAC application completed by the certificate holder and employing school district.
- Submit official transcript(s) that shows completion of at least nine semester hours of coursework toward the professional certificate as outlined by the approved plan of study or DESE evaluation. Transcripts should be mailed to Educator Certification, PO Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102. We do not accept faxed, scanned or emailed transcripts.
Extend
TAC certificates are not extended.
