Welcome New MSSD Superintendent
MSSD is proud to welcome our new Superintendent, Dr. Gregery Caine, Sr.
Dr. Caine is the parent of five children he shares with his wife Tabatha. Their middle child, Kodi Joy, had cerebral palsy and spastic-quadriplegia. She passed away in 2018 and has been an inspiration in Dr. Caine’s work as an educator and advancement into special education. He has 30 years of experience in the field of education as a teacher, coach, school administrator, district administrator, and Superintendent. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Studies Education and Speech-Drama Education from Central Missouri State University in 1996. Dr. Caine received his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2003, his Specialist in Education Degree from the University of Central Missouri in 2007, and his Doctorate in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011.
Dr. Caine is serving in his first year as Superintendent of MSSD having retired from the public school system in June of 2025. Dr. Caine served as an adjunct professor at Columbia College in their master’s program for principal preparation. He was recognized by the Mid-Missouri Literacies and Languages for All organization with their administrator literacy advocate award.
During Dr. Caine’s leadership of Jefferson Middle School of Columbia, Missouri, he facilitated numerous transformations culminating in the development of an award-winning STEAM Middle School.
