Special Education Data

The Special Education Data Section helps Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by providing Local Education Agencies (LEA) training, support, and guidance on how to report and use special education data. The team also helps set state goals for performance under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), ensures state and federal reporting requirements are met, and creates and shares data profiles for the state and for local school districts.

  • Special Education Reporting Table: The Special Education reporting table shows all the data collections, explains what each one is, and describes the types of information gathered. It also tells school districts which system they should use, how the data will be used, and why the data is required. Each data collection has a due date to help districts keep track of what needs to be submitted and when.
  • Special Education Overview: The Special Education Overview is a presentation that explains the basic requirements for collecting special education data.
  • Special Education Data Collections: The Special Education Data Collections page provides resources, training, and information about each data collection.
  • Special Education Data Reports: The Special Education Data Reports Page provides links to the public Special Education Data Reports available at both the state and federal levels.
  • Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO): The Early Childhood Outcomes page offers training, resources, and other information about ECO results for young children in early childhood programs.
