Report a Complaint or Concern
How to Report a Health or Safety Concern/Complaint:
Complaints made on child care programs will be reviewed to determine if an investigation is needed. Please note that complaints about a school or school district cannot be investigated by the Office of Childhood unless the program is licensed or contracted to receive subsidy. If you have a concern or complaint about a school, find out who can help here.
Once it has been determined that a complaint needs to be investigated, it is assigned to a local Compliance Inspector or the child care subsidy team for investigation. Depending on the seriousness of a substantiated (determined to be rule or contract violations) complaint, the facility may be referred for possible legal action.
The conclusion summary of all substantiated complaints are available to the public through Show Me Child Care Provider Search.
