Approved Programs
The Department receives three sources of federal funding for afterschool programs, which are then made available to the local level through a competitive grant process:
- School Age Community (SAC)
- 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) — Title IV, Part B of ESEA
- Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL)
The purposes of and requirements for these grants vary, but they have common themes of keeping school-age youth safe and engaged while providing additional tutoring and enrichment opportunities. Below is a brief explanation of these grant programs and a list of currently funded programs.
